He critiques God in all his forms, from the sex-obsessed tyrant of the Old Testament to the more benign (but still illogical) Celestial Watchmaker favored by some Enlightenment thinkers. User Description: A passionately argued book - however, if you do manage to set aside his at times much too aggresive tone, you will find clever arguments for why atheists can be “happy, balanced, moral, and intellectually fulfilled” in the absence of religion.

User Description: I found this book hard going to be honest. But it does make some interesting points, even if you don't agree with the method of delivery. Dawkins comes across as quite angry and bitter, which is a shame as it seems to take away some of the rationality of his argument. Worth a read though, whether you agree with the sentiment or not, worth seeing what the fuss is about.
