ReadItSwapIt Book Condition Guidelines
-
"Like New": an seemingly unread copy in perfect condition. Pages are clean and
not marked by notes or folds. No one would know this book had already been
read.
-
"Excellent": a book that has clearly been read, but is still in great condition.
Pages are intact and not marked by any sort of damage, handwriting or major creases
and the spine is in good condition.
-
"Good": a copy that has clearly been read (possibly a few times) but remains in a decent, clean
condition. Pages may be a bit creased or have a few handwriting notes. The
spine shows some signs of wear. The book does not smell.
-
"Acceptable": a readable copy. All pages and the cover are accounted for. Pages
may include lots of notes but the notes do not obscure the text. The book may
be slightly damaged but damage is specified in the description. Pages may be
taped together. However, the book can still be read easily and is not covered
in dirt or stains.
What you should not attempt to swap on ReadItSwapIt: mouldy,
smelly, badly stained or dirty copies; heavily damaged books; titles with
missing pages or obscured text; any book that does not have a cover; books
whose text cannot be read for any reason.
